Rainfall warning in effect for:

City of Toronto
Rain, at times heavy, is expected. The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall.

Rainfall totals of 50-70 mm expected through Saturday.

Rain will continue today into Saturday as the weather system responsible stalls over the region. The bulk of rainfall totals will accumulate by this evening after which the rain should become lighter.

Rainfall totals as of 8 AM:
Hamilton Botanical Gardens 47.8 mm
Delhi 39.8 mm
Waterloo-Wellington 33.4 mm
Downtown Toronto 33.3 mm
Vineland 32.9 mm
C.F.B. Borden 16.5 mm

With the ground already saturated, there is the potential for local flooding. For information concerning flooding please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry District office.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow, fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle or a person away. Consider moving valuable items to higher levels.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpio-tempetes-ospc-storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
